FCT

The FCT logo comes in 2 variants:

Long and short
Wider FCT logo
Narrower and higher
Narrower FCT logo

Unless you want to use them in exactly the same dimensions in web pages, the previous logos will be inadequate. Additionally there are restrictions on their use. To obtain an adequate logo and know about usage restrictions see below.

Usage conditions for FCT logos

The logos are free to use to advertise FCT sponsored activities either in print or web pages provided the conditions below are met:

  • All scaling must preserve the proportions between height and width.

  • Colors to be used in the logo depend on the background:

    in color over white or gray up to 10% black
    • Pantone 3298 CV for the FCT acronym
    • Black 100% for the title Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia
    • Gray as 60% black for the subtitle Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior
    in black and white over white or gray up to 10% black background
    • Gray as 60% black for the FCT acronym
    • Black 100% for the title Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia
    • Gray as 60% black for the subtitle Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior
    in black and white over black or dark background
    The FCT acronym, the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia title and the Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior subtitle must be white.

The files downloadable through this page are mainly intended for typographical usage. For use in web pages it is recommended that, unless logos existing in several FCT web pages are used without change, you start with the PDF versions and create GIF or PNG versions in an editor like the GIMP using steps such as the following:

  • Import the graphic with maximum anti-aliasing.
  • Crop superfluous margins.
  • Rescale to the intended dimensions keeping the proportions between height and width.
  • Add an alpha channel (transparency).
  • Select the white background color and remove it.
  • Save as GIF or PNG.

The result should be a logo adequate for light backgrounds displaying smooth symbol boundaries.
