FCT-supported Research Units and Associated Laboratories across all research fields, which are regularly evaluated by international scientific panels.

Information Society

FCT coordinates Information Society and Knowledge public policies and its mobilization, fosters the development of e-Science as well as cooperation with foreign entities, particularly within the European Union and Portuguese-speaking countries.

International Cooperation

To foster and sustain the internationalisation of Portuguese research teams, FCT establishes bilateral and multilateral joint agreements with many international Science and Technology organisations around the world.

EU Framework Programmes for R&D

GPPQ raises awareness to the EU Framework Programmes, and fosters applications by scientists in Portugal to programmes such as the Marie Curie Actions and the European Research Council.

Scientific Community Support Fund

FACC provides selective funding for initiatives by the scientific community and institutions in Portugal that are excluded from other FCT funding schemes and programmes.

R&D Policy

FCT promotes awareness and discussion of research and innovation public policies, national strategies, road-maps and evaluation of the impact of policy and public funding.

Science and Technology Archive

The FCT Historical Archive contains documentation relating to the coordination and financing of scientific research and technological development in Portugal in the second half of the twentieth century.
