Warnings concerning FCT web sites

This page shows the list of warnings concerning FCT web sites and, in particular, planned service interruptions or the record of any significant unplanned service interruptions.

20/02/2010
Due to a disk failure on the night of 18/2 a considerable number of FCT portals were put in maintenance mode. We still have problems with document uploads. Recovery was considered complete on 22/2.
20/01/2010
Starting at 5:30pn FCT on line services will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance for, hopefully, a couple of hours.
14 and 15/12/2009
Starting around 10:35 pm on the 14th a blackout in the FCT headquarters neighborhood made online access to FCT services impossible from 10:45pm to 01:30am.
27 and 30/11/2009
Planned service interruptions relative to http://concursos.fct.mctes.pt/projectos and http://concursos.fct.mctes.pt/bolsas for a period not exceeding 2 hours starting at 10am local time. It will also affect https://www.fct.mctes.pt/evaluation/ and the local intranet. This is required to apply software changes involving data formats which, to be applied, require the database server to be inaccessible for a short period.

A technical anomaly in a FCCN DNS server prevented access to the fct.mctes.pt domain during several hours.

An electrical malfunction in the FCT headquarters prevented access to the fct.mctes.pt domain during several hours.

Planned downtime for all FCT servers starting 8:30 am on April 18, 2009, for a period that we hope not to exceed 4 hours.
02/11/2008
Planned downtime for alfa.fct.mctes.pt from 00:00 to 02:00 on November 02, 2008, for an operating system upgrade. Other FCT servers will be available.

An unsuccessful hardware update caused service interruptions between 3pm and 6pm.
Starting 19/09/2008
Following the hardware and software update of the main FCT databases, a considerable number of web pages on the site www.fct.mctes.pt will present errors in the next few days. The sheer amount of non standard changes involved needed to repair them implies that the correction will not be immediate. As these mainly provide historical data we do not expect major inconveniences. Most pages related to current activity that were affected were corrected on September 22. Users needing data from one of these pages please contact webmaster@fct.mctes.pt to request higher priority in the repair process.
18-19/09/2008
Planned service interruption 18-19/09/2008, starting at 9am on the 18th and planned not to exceed 36h, for the overhaul of the main FCT database infrastructures. The web server concursos, www and the intranet web server will be unavailable. Hence on line calls for projects and grants will be interrupted.

Planned service interruption 26/08/2008 starting at 5pm. All services dependent on the main FCT databases will be affected including project and grant calls, unit evaluations,... Probable duration: 3 hours.

Planned service interruption 04/04/2008 at noon. All services dependent on the main FCT databases will be affected. Probable duration: 15 minutes.

Planned service interruption 08/02/2008 at 5pm. Only alfa.fct.mctes.pt will be directly affected. Probable duration: 15 minutes.
