What is co-funding of regional, national and international programmes?

This action aims at encouraging existing or new regional and national programmes to open up and provide for transnational mobility, as well as to reinforce international programmes.

Who can apply?

Public or private bodies responsible for funding and managing fellowship programmes (ministries, research academies or agencies, international bodies running schemes at European level, etc.).

Which research topics are supported?

Proposals from all areas of scientific and technological research of interest to the European Union are welcome.

How does it work?

The organizations apply to the European Commission for multi-annual programs to be co-financed for at least one type of transnational mobility: outgoing, incoming, or reintegration. After a positive evaluation, the organizations open calls for the implementation of the programs, based on a open and widely publicized competition, with transparent peer review, and based on the candidates' merits. In these calls researchers submit an application together with an host institution, which should be located in a Member State or Associated Country.

What expenses are covered by this funding?

The community contribution cofunds a fixed percentage of 40% of total costs of contracts signed between hosting institutions and eligible researchers.

The call for applications was published on November 18, 2009.

Deadline for applications: February 18, 2010, 5pm, Brussels local time.
