Scientific Community Support Fund
The Scientific Community Support Programme (FACC) provides selective funding for initiatives by the scientific community and institutions in Portugal that are excluded from other FCT funding schemes and programmes.
FACC supports proposals from all fields of research, aimed at promoting development and internationalisation of the scientific communities’ activities.

The call for applications to FACC is always open, with different deadlines for each type of funding that is requested.
FACC supports the following types of activities:
- Operation of scientific societies or scientific institutions of similar nature;
- Organisation of scientific meetings in Portugal;
- Non-regular scientific publications;
- Activities that reinforce the internationalisation of the Portuguese scientific community.
Who can apply:
- Portuguese higher education institutions, their research centres and non-profit R&D institutions;
- State Laboratories and other public research institutions;
- Non-profit scientific societies or institutions;
- Persons of recognised scientific merit (as defined in the regulations).
