BiodivERsA2 is a project funded by ERA-Net Scheme of the EU FP7 (2010-2014). This network is a partnership of 21 funding agencies and research agencies on biodiversity, coordinated by the Fondation pour la Recherche sur la Biodiversité (FRB), France.
The BiodivERsA2 Pan-European Call for International Research Proposals on Biodiversity Dynamics: Developing Scenarios, Identifying Tipping Points and Improving Resilience was launched on 1st November 2011.
For this call the 11 co-funding agencies from 10 participant countries defined a joint investment of about € 6 M.
All the thematic fields of biodiversity are covered by the call, which ambition is to promote a transnational cooperation for the generation of knowledge that embodies a predictive comprehension of biodiversity systems and its evolution over the next decades.
Scientific teams from the participating countries will be invited to form transnational research consortia, with a total of at least 3 different countries participating in the call.
Research themes, application and evaluation process will follow as described in the BiodivERsA2 call announcement. The final decision of funding will be undertake by FCT’s Board of Directors and in case of a positive funding decision Portuguese applicants will be asked to submit a formal national application. National regulations will be applied for Portuguese participant institutions.
Please notice that Portuguese researchers participating in ongoing R&D projects funded by FCT cannot be funded if they exceed 100% of time dedicated to the sum of all the funded projects.
FCT encourages the participation of companies in proposals submission. Companies will be eligible for a maximum of 50% funding and should be integrated in consortia with R&D institutions.
